Our TOP 10 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD GO SKIING FOR CHRISTMAS !
This year we were lucky enough to spend our first family Christmas skiing and I have to say we absolutely LOVED every single part of it (especially now our youngest mountain girl is skiing).
We were very privileged to stay in an AMAZING hotel on the slopes in Courchevel 1850, ticking all the boxes of ski-in/ski-out, and with every service one could possibly dream of …
Here are our top 10 reasons why you SHOULD go skiing for Christmas:
1: WHO HASN’T DREAMED OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS? (Bing Crosby is estimated to have sold over 50 million copies of the song alone 😉) If you choose a high altitude resort the snow is guaranteed. The snow in Courchevel was very good.

2: THE KIDS LOVED it – (Once they understood that Father Christmas would still make it 😉 ) Mornings on the slopes, afternoons at the pool or on the slopes again…

3: NO COOKING & CLEANING – Wouldn’t you rather be skiing on Christmas morning than calculating how long to cook your turkey? As much as I love my family – it’s nice not to spend all the Christmas holidays cooking and cleaning. Dare I admit we even ordered our Christmas dinner (Sssshhhh).

4: INSTEAD OF EATING ALL WEEK, YOU SKI ALL WEEK, burning off those extra calories whilst getting fresh air, quality time as a family

5: NO CROWDS – Its one of the quietest school holidays to hit the slopes

6: It’s CHEAPER over Christmas than at New Year – meaning more money for après ski 😉

7: FREE ANIMATION IN RESORT – the resorts go all out animation wise to make it special…from torch lit descents to firework displays. Our hotel also had a special Christmas afternoon with an in house magician, chocolate fondue foundations and presents galore for all the kids in the hotel.

8: NO ARGUMENTS about who is coming to stay. If like me your parents are divorced, you always feel incredibly guilty about inviting one and not the other etc. This way no one feels put out.

9: If you are British and coming on holiday in France you get to CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS TWICE…The French celebrate on the 24th and the British on the 25th – double the fun!

10: Finally…it’s MAGICAL…my girls are still talking about it now…
